78 RPMs

If there's anyone out there who doesn't already know about archive.org's marvellous 78s collection, take a look at it here. It was around this time last year that I discovered it, so this weather reminds me of it.

If you don't want to go through all those links and look around, I distilled some notable music in this post.

Thanks for posting that. I'm enjoying these songs from the Metafilter Swap CD. Sad thing though, that last track has expired on YouSendIt.

That's brilliant!
I was just looking for something like that - I've been listening to a lot of Django Reinhardt in the last few days and I thought there should be some sort of online repository for it. Anyway, it's about 20 years too late for your 1918 goal, but take a listen anyway:
