Combatting Burnout
This is not the experiment I was alluding to in the comments earlier today. The comic that's missing will be made up for later--rest assured that at the end of the year, there will be 365 pages of comics.
a comic a day for you to see and read

No pressure from me, John. I find "myself" is the hardest thing to write about for me, which is why I spend so many words commenting on other pop cultural crap. Feel free to drag your favorite movie/band tv shows into the strip (nobody cares when the cast of 'Lost' doesn't even look like the cast of 'Lost'). I've also noticed that the webcomickers who make themselves the subject of their works (especially Jeff Rowland's Overcompensating, and even Greg Dean's Real Life Comics) often go on wild flights of fantasy. Go for it!
I'll try that out.
I was wondering what you meant by this—what idea you were talking about:
This is not the experiment I was alluding to in the comments earlier today.
So I poked into the flickr comments, and was reminded of this:
Actually, I have an idea that could make this all a lot easier for me, if it works.
So, if I've put two and two together correctly, I have to say it's right gentlemanly of you to clarify that "not drawing them at all" isn't the time-saving idea. :)
And what wendell said. I'm finding the John Ralston Slice o' Life pretty entertaining, but I don't know you nearly as well as you do. Diverge, diverge, my son, and conquer.
And days off are okay. Not thinking that days off are okay is what leads to burnout, and I'd rather see 361 comics this year than 31 in January.
JOHN! I had no idea this was going on. I like it.
Makes me want to cartoon!
Oh, yeah, don' listen to people who tell you o be more likeother people..
Hey, Luke! How'd you find me? Glad you like it! I think most of them totally suck.
Well, I gave in and made a comic today. Coloring it now.
I found you through our fancy-pants site meter at Eatenbyducks.blogspot.com.
Someone visitied our blog via yours, and Big Brotha knows it!
the comics are good, btw. I like how straightforward it all is.
I'm glad you like them, Luke. You should start cartooning again. I like your standalone drawings, but I miss your comics.
